2018 Leadership Essay

Women’s March Sacramento is proud to announce our annual youth essay contest. This year we will be focusing on defining leadership and what it means to you. The winner of this year’s essay will receive an award, which will be presented on January 20th, at the 2018 Women’s March Sacramento Rally.

Participants must be between 8 to 18 years old. Essay must be between 400 to 600 words and address the following questions:

  • What is leadership? Define what it means to you.

  • What qualities make someone a good leader and why? 

  • How does positivity play a role in leadership? Think of some leaders you admire and write about times when they have responded with positivity in tough situations.

  • How have you demonstrated the traits of a leader in your life and what type of leader do you hope to become in the future? Give examples.
