Violence Against Indigenous Women

Ms. Reitman currently serves as the Executive Director of the Inter-Tribal Council of California, Inc., a statewide tribal non-profit 501c(3) association comprised of 59 tribes and tribal organizations.  

Ms. Reitman has over 50 years of experience in community development, promoting social and economic development for underserved tribal communities predominately in rural areas throughout California. Her experience includes public policy development at federal, state and county levels with a focus on recognizing the unique government-to-government relationship between tribal governments and the federal government. She has been successful in the design of systems and programs providing improved services for elderly, tribal children, youth, families and communities in health, education, social services, cultural preservation, environmental stewardship and economic development. 

In addition to her work, Ms. Reitman has contributed community service over the years including membership on numerous executive boards including: Indian Teacher Education Project-Humboldt State University, Northern Indians California Education Project, American Lung Association-Redwood Empire Region, Lake County Juvenile Justice Commission, Sutter Lakeside Hospital, Sacramento Commission on the Status of Women, Sacramento Native American Health Center, Soroptomist Club, Assembly of California Indian Women, Our Lady of Fatima School Board, Lake County Student Attendance Review Board, and currently serves on the Board of Regents for Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas.

Crystal Strait is the President/CEO of Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California—representing 7 independent, regional affiliates and 108 health centers in California. Previously she served as an advisor within the City of Sacramento, and prior to that, Dr. Richard Pan’s Chief of Staff in the California Assembly and Senate where she was chief strategist in the Senate for implementing vaccine mandate laws for public school students.
