In 2018 Women’s March Sacramento CA State Capitol was honored by Mayor Steinberg, recognizing the 3rd Saturday of January as Women’s Voices Day. On this day of January 2018, 36,000 people of all backgrounds–– women, men and gender nonconforming people, young and old, of diverse faiths, differently abled, immigrants and indigenous--came together, 36,000 strong, to march in solidarity, celebrating women’s rights as human rights.

Since its inception, the Women's March brand has been successful in mobilizing millions of women across the globe for change. As a chapter, the mission of Women's March Sacramento is focused on empowering all women. Locally, we navigate a political landscape that has experienced its fair share of trauma that is deeply rooted in racial and economic disparity. Our organization has been faced with the need to answer an important question; two years later, what do we want to accomplish and who do we want to become?

I am not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own.
